Instructions to make Rajma:

  1. I have used canned kidney beans. 1/2 cup i.e 1/2 can.keep some brian(can liquid with beans too).for raw kidney beans soak them for few hours in water then boil till tender.they take little longer to boil so it could be pressure cooked as well..
  2. Boil one onion with garlic,tomato,ginger & bayleaf. When onion is soft,remove bayleaf & blend onion, garlic, tomato to fine paste.remove tomato skin as well..
  3. In a pot add this paste & cook at medium flame.add same bayleaf. Cook till moisture evaporates & thick gravy is achieved.add all spices leaving garam masala.cook masala till smells end. Add kidney beans in gravy.
  4. Add 1and 1/2 cup water & let it cook at medium flame.while cooking mash some beans inside gravy to get texture.adjust consistency of gravy as desire.lastly add garam masala powder fresh chop coriander & green chillies.
  5. Serve with rice or chapati as well. Enjoy healthy recipe with joy.
